No cipc only MH, stored above 8C

Sold 15.5t acre (planted area) not too bad a yield considering the seed had little tuber disorder after planting. It did cause lots of head aches with greening, massive gaps amongst the plants in the rows, massive weed growth, odd shaped spuds, hollow heart to name a few!

But we may have broke even on growing/ selling costs. (On our own land)

Tesco today selling whites, no variety £1 per kilo sheer robbery, imagine if most of their products are hiked in the same ratio

Why is £1 kg which is £1000 tonne retail in the Tesco store wrong? Sheer Robbery!? Genuine question.

After the potato leaves the growers farm it will be washed, put into plastic bags, transported and handled at the packing station and the central distribution depot, then transported to the store handled again before purchaser walks out of store with a 2.5 kg bag of potatoes. I am always intrigued with how much goes into each stage and the cost versus sales price. I think you may find also that previous year a grower might on free buy have received £300 tonne, with maybe £180 on contract, this year price for whites is nearer £70 tonne - but the price point in Tesco and other stores same or very similar between the two years. So yes grower price has varied substantially but retail not so.

Hey ho.

Only sold two loads so far, suppose I should really start making an effort. Hopefully this will be an extended season if planting is delayed.

You do well not to need the money coming in?!

We’ll be done in 3-4 wks, same time as usual. Last few go when we want to plant, so a bit busy for a few weeks, then quiet! Have been selling up to 70t a week, which is a lot for us.Managed to get up to £125 for piper and Agria.

I think frying stuff will be short in July.

Little potato seems a problem with Sagitta. Was it your own saved seed?
