Pottinger 54 tedder timing out of synch.

One of the inner rotors on our 4 rotor Pottinger Eurohit 54 has stopped driving in synch and the fingers are colliding with their neighbours. Having recently had a similar problem on our prehistoric Kuhn, which involved replacing a roll-pin in the leg, I'm assuming this will be similar, but hopefully a bit easier to get at.
I just wondered if anyone had done one and if there was anything to look out for on the way. Thanks :)

The leg assembly came apart easy enough by knocking out a couple of roll pins, but the problem seems to be that the drive gear on the horizontal shaft is sliding backwards and forwards, so it comes out of engagement with the crown wheel. It has a key, but I can;'t see how it is secured. I think I'll turn it all upside down for a better look.
