The Opportunity: Looking for your next step within the poultry sector? Are you ready to take responsibility for a poultry unit within part of a large multi-site poultry enterprise, comfortable to be hands on, with a real eye for detail and flock performance? Please keep readingā€¦ The Poultry Farm Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of a sizable free range and barn laying site in the West Midlands. You will monitor and maintain the highest standards of care in accordance with agreed standards, as well as ensuring the biosecurity of the site is maintained at all times. A fantastic opportunity to work for a progressive company, actively contributing to the development and growth of the business.

The Company: A diverse and progressive, large-scale farming business with multiple farming enterprises centred around a multisite poultry business.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management and welfare of the birds
  • Monitor and manage egg production in terms of egg quality, size and collection
  • Monitor and record all production data
  • Manage the audit documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Implement and maintain strict biosecurity measures across the site
Skills you will need:
Essential:

  • Proven experience of flock management on large poultry units
  • Practical knowledge, and respect for on-farm health & safety and biosecurity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of the current legislation and auditing requirements for poultry units
  • Organised with a strong eye for detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to put in extra hours when required to ensure the job is completed to the highest standards
