Alpego been a disaster up here. Know of 3 returned. Dealer given up franchise.

Horsch seem to be gaining ground. There kuhn power harrow
Scots are putting a few horsch out not far from here . I was in a field with one last year and he was struggling to bury seed but I think he could've done to be deeper with the ph it certainly wasn't the worst going I've ever seen seed buried in .

They are a good simple coulter bar compared to some .

Out of what I've used demo'd and seen

Kuhn will deal with stones and drill into some very dodgy stuff at 125mm spacing but folding requires front hopper

Lemken more rotors in the power harrow but wet sticky ground needs 150mm spacing

Amazone they're double disc will need 150mm spacing as it's like the lemken

Horsch 6m semi mounted will be good there's 1 local and it goes well . 4m requires front hopper
As said before I saw one last year struggling in iffy going putting seed in but I wasn't going with it so dunno what the issue was

Just bought a Pottinger.

I ruled out lemken because it was too much money and didn’t like the weight of the extra tank on the back. Plus have heard of quite a few that have cracked after a few years. Almost went with a Horsch but the Kuhn PH is a bit of a weak point with them and hangers wearing thin very quickly. Amazone looks a good bit of kit but we’re very expensive on initial approach.

I would absolutely guarantee if the sowing conditions become wet and challenging, the horsch would be the first to block up

I dunno mind a close spaced lemken and amazone will be the same.

Our Amazone will maul it in when their is standing water on the ground if we force it (we don’t)
Neighbouring contractor has both and the Amazone comes out when it’s wet and the Horsch goes back in the shed

Got a 2009 Kuhn, also got some stiff ground, the coulter linkage is crap, just bends if try and drill deep, easier to list what hasn’t cracked than what has. Plus spare parts are a complete rip off.
