Power harrowing a stone track

We have a long farm lane that needs mending come spring, there's plenty stone there but needs loosening up and putting into a camber. I thought about buying an old robust power harrow and loosening it with that, any thoughts on this? or what would be the numbest cheapest power harrow that would be suitable?

Tried that yrs ago. 3 mtr lely. Non stop breaking shear pins. Did a couple of gravel tracks with an old pressure harrow. Did a good job with that. Old Dutch harrow would do the same. I put a few weights on it and after a couple or. 3 passes it was ready to be rolled down

Have previously used a dutch harrow on the back and one on the front, but its knackerd them both, it was taking nearer ten passes to get any amount loosened. Thought power harrow would be quicker and more effective, maybe could alter the levelling board to give it a camber also (y)

DynaDrive????

Yep if conditions are right, not to dry or too wet after a few passes the track is done for another year. Its a mix of soil and rubble in places. The dynadrive was surplus to requirements and had the idea of trying it on tracks with some results so put it through workshop and spruced it up a bit with parts we already had.

What about one of those ripper attachments for a 360 digger.Have seen some with 3 or so tines.
Neighbour had an old drott with a ripper on the back that would have been ideal but father wasn't keen at the time that we should have bought when he sold it

I reckon a good old power harrow with worn out tines would work

Plenty go through York for £500. Weld the pto clutch up and dont try to do 4" deep in one pass

It could be tracked in well in my limited experience that makes the difference between a good and bad track
Yes it does make a good job been tracked in, that's where a drott with a ripper would be ideal, does soon get brayed down by constant traffic on it anyway

best "numb" implement for ripping the guts out of a roadway is an old bomford superflow with standard tines

drag that through it, then just go over it by hand and pick out/bury and big bits, dutch harrow and roll, job done
