Preventing algae in IBC tanks/totes

Those 1,000 litre white tanks in a cage - people seem to call them different names.

I'm having to use a few of them for water supply to the flock. I'm told light causes the algal growth, is there an easy way to exclude it? I'll likely end up having to do 12 - 15 of them.

we use several, if reasonable stock numbers the water never seems to be in them for long enough for algae to be a problem, different matter if using for rainwater harvesting and likely to be stood around for a while ?

You can buy properly fitted covers, I’ve got one on a tank that fills my pressure washer where my mains pressure is low. But probably not a cheap way if you’ve got 12-15 to do.
When I used to have sheep, I had some old sheets over the tanks (old army ones that were ripped, so cut up) bungy tied to the cages.

Spray gun and primer, ideally you want it as thick as possible while still being able to get it out of the gun.
Easier on the back if you paint the top, and put it up off the ground while painting the sides

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
