Price of oats

That is ridiculous. I was paying £130/tonne for oats from a local farmer pre lambing. You can buy oat-based high protein feed from Berrystocks for under £200/tonne.

What is the ex farm price of feed oats for an arable farmer growing them? I'll bet it's less than half that! Any arable growers in your area?

Edit: Sandpit beat me to it!

Tbh if you aren't that far from Daventry, it would be worth driving to Berrystocks as they do tonne and half tonne bulk bags and they will pop them on your trailer for you.

Just been quoted £298 per ton of whole oats from MVF - is this right? At that price my lambs will be staying on creep !!!

was offered £110 harvest yesterday ! where are you ? I have a part load in store from last harvest still

I'm out of oats, but can't buy them. The price is so poor most farmers round here don't think its worth the bother to sell the last ten tonnes or so, so are keeping it until harvest

not a lot to Bridgenorth, I could get a quote if your interested, thats August delivery though, I only have a few tonnes of the 2014 crop left in store (not a truck load)
I'll have my own by then, but I am changing my heifer ration to include more oats so will want some more. I'll let you know nearer the time, but I am definitely interested. Thanks.
