Vey sad and it must be devastating for her Majesty. I met him a couple of times during my career and found him very knowledgeable and interested with his questioning, but he always loved to get the last parting word in.

Those of us living in the U.K. and Commonwealth are blessed to have had such a steady and dedicated man at the Queen’s side during her long reign. We have all avoided the upheavals and mayhem of our less fortunate republican neighbours. R.I.P.

The life, work, dedication and service that Prince Phillip embodied is clear to all.

He is one of the last of his type, who are now becoming very rare indeed.

In fact today they may well have become extinct.

We are poorer for his passing, without a doubt.
