Annoucement Private messages and email notifications

BASIS
It's not called Private mesages anymore, just click on a person's name and a pop-up appears, in there says "Start Conversation" - that's private message, but, you can also allow others into the conversation

To remove email notifications:
  1. Go to top right hand side of screen and see your username
  2. Click the dropdown box
  3. Half-way down you'll see 'Preferences'
  4. Under the heading 'Options' you should see this:
  5. Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...
    • and receive email notifications of replies.
  6. This SHOULD stop emails from future posts but may not on previous posts, these will have to be done manually
  7. To do this go to bottom of post and click 'More Options'
  8. There should be a checkbox like in step 5, uncheck email one.
Hope this helps
Rob

You mean can view others conversations?!
Are you sure they aren't just conversations people have tried to start with you?!

I think your looking at posts made to his profile rather than conversations which are private ?

Yes Clive is right here.

A conversation is a private exchange of messages between members, not viewable by others.

It is however possible to post a message on somebodies profile page. This leaves as message on their page - and is viewable by others.

What does that mean

Ok

Click on my profile and then go to my profile page

You will see messages left by others on my public profile page - anyone can see these they are not private

However you can't see my private inbox of conversations - they are private

We even added a 'send private message' button under everyone avatar yesterday just for you as the term convo seemed to have you confused

I'm sure it's possible if a) I knew how or b) I could be bothered to !
You said on the bff that private messages aren't secure you could read them on your racing car forum if you chose to do so,I certainly know its possible if one chose to do so.but that aside folks should realise anything posted on the internet aint private and should bare that in mind.
