Private Water Supply

Currently use spring water obtained with a submersible pump from the collecting chamber that supplied a hydraulic ram. This fills a tank that gravity feeds to the house and farm. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for water treatment and pressurisation in a similar situation. Many thanks. Nick

Have you issues with water quality or contamination?

If not I would just have a washable 80 micron filter and a booster pump to provide pressure.

If you've never had much pressure before get ready for a lot of leaks!

We’ve just got a strainer filter on intake pipe here, DAB 85 type booster pump with pressure vessel, washable cartridge filter and an UV filter for good measure (bulb has been blown for three years but it looks good!!!)

Can take few photos if OP wants.

Pretty much the same here although UV filter working. Also a ph Unit to lower the acidity to stop it eating the copper pipes in the house. Water comes by gravity from the spring first to a holding tank that then feeds the pumphouse.

Most of our pipes are plastic Uponor crimped pipes now for same reason and stainless steel hot water cylinder. We only noticed the soldered joints suffereing when re doing the house after 25 years so not too bad. We tried the settlement tank route few years ago but could not get a ball valve setup to keep up with the pump so would empty tank so went back to pump connected to the intake pipe. Should of really ran a 40mm pipe to the pumphouse when we were re doing the yard and the house!!!
