Re: the Xerion spreader, it won’t be quarry lime he’s spreading, it will be an industrial product of some sort, being that dry.

I don’t know why they wouldn’t have the boom lower and the curtain touching the ground to create less drift.

It could have been a kind of first day out trial run, but by that video it looks a very expensive way to make a pee poor job of it.

That was my logic. Plenty of cars there which suggests it as a trial.

Thanks for asking.

I really like it. As said before, it has everything I need and nothing I don’t need.

I’ve done two autumn seasons with it now and one dry spring and it’s been all good. The only thing that lets it down is the tyres.

On dry ground , no problem. It travels on worked ground well and takes rough ground well, but wet ground, hard or soft isn’t so good. The tyres are really trailer tyres and they lack traction. The is nothing in a wide enough size to do the job, so I’m looking into a set of duals for the rear.

Not the ideal thing, but for the best I think. I can fabricate a simple scraper to keep them clean in sticky going and in a dry season I’ll change them back to the current tyres.

It’s been mostly very good travelling in the last 18months, but if we get a wet season it will struggle for grip, so I think a set of aggressive tread duals will make it the machine it really could be.
