Presumably you are thinking of bolted duals/twins like on the drive axles of lorries Pete but on steroids? Be easier to get some stocks to fit current tyres? Easy on and off and Chuck on trailer with loadall when you go down the road?

Yea too wide to move on road at even to spread 3 loads in next field type of thing and the on and off every trip would just be painful would just loose the will to live ,,,,, but for compaction nothing better

I did briefly consider something like that. Not so bad on a warm dry day, but wet and cold and mired in mud. No thank you. Especially on one of those days with several farms to cover.

If I go dual they will be bolted and still within the 3 metres max width legal for towing the trailer.

Yes, they will have to be. To get maximum width they might be two different sizes on each side.

I never understand how anyone gets funding to develop such a project - the costs would be massive, the target market slim so I really cannot see how it can pay back unless it can be sold to the government or military who have endlessly deep pockets.
