Look at this absolutely beautiful weapon. For sale at this very moment in NZ.
A quick call to my lad telling him of my excitement. Upon close inspection of the pics it reveals the machine is mostly Mercedes based and appears to even have the hallowed Allison auto transmission.
I said to get it bought and drive it home. I assured him ferries would be plentiful.
He said “Bollox to that, it looks crap”
Kids. They spoil all the fun.

Thank you 👍

I’ve never seen anything like this little truck before @Kiwi Pete

Are they made in NZ? Can you tell me anything about it?
I can't tell you much about them as they are pretty much a 'made to order' machine, but yep they're built just down the way from here. Beck's [engineering, in Edendale] designed and built them, as well as the bins on our trucks.

No idea even how many exist, but I could give Scotty a call and ask.
He's brilliant, great to have these sorts of people only a phonecall away as you'd expect, a bit like having an issue with your car and actually being able to talk to the brains behind it instead of some monkey- invaluable. He's saved my day quite a few times

Back when I was a lad, limespreaders were on dreadful old shiboxes like Commers and TK Bedfords, hence machines like the Agtruk and Trucktor being created from nothing to fill the gap.

I think us spreading contractors must be a strange bunch. We just don’t seem to be able to get off the shelf or conventional kit to do the job right in lots of situations.

Necessity is the mother of invention and I’m sure lots of machines have been built for very specific areas of the world.

That little machine I posted just looks cracking. A bit old fashioned maybe, but low and wide and the conventional bonnet really appeals to me. If it is actually based on MB foundations then I really wish I had noticed them 7 or 8 years ago. How I missed them I don’t know….. it certainly wasn’t for the want of trying!!

Sounds like a great bloke to know.

In the last few years I’ve learnt one thing when it comes to trying to do things differently or bespoke. And that is, in this country, everyone says “Oh, you can’t do that “, whereas down under it seems to be “f**k it, just get on with it”

I know where I should be…..
Innovation is the difference between being a leader and a follower!

One thing I would pay money for is a split brake pedal to keep the nose uphill and reduce scrub, but its getting to the point you can't even say it let alone do it

If TFF is indicative of what it's like in the UK then a lot of things stay as dreams, hey?

It’s not building something to do the job that bothers me, it’s getting around on the roads that gives me the most concern.

Without that restriction I could have a thousand ideas.

However, Christ it’s so fecking busy round here these days that only a complete fool would continue regardless of the law.
Aye i know what you mean, if i go otjer places i often wonder how farmers farm … cant be alot of pleasure for many farmers .
