Promoting Red Meat

It seem very popular to bash meat production in general in this day and age with misinformed views and ideas, yet nobody seem to fight in favour of the producers conner bar a few farmers on social media, Why are HHC, Red tractor and other organisations not promoting meat on a weekly basis? Are they not meat promoting companies? Surely they could spare a bit of time to visit a producer from time to time and explain how the process works and sustainability to the public?

HCC is making sure that independent butchers in Wales that are signed up with them have recipe and cooking hints leaflets for Welsh lamb available to give to customers. Lockdown has led to more people cooking from scratch, and using their local independents.

There's a Love Lamb campaign on TV and other media. RT is involved, I think.

My problem is I'm not in the target audience for promotions, and it's other consumers who receive the hints, nudges, etc. It could feel that nothing is being done if I never picked up a supermarket info magazine from time to time.

The NFU and the levy boards and especially Red Tractor should have people to answer all the misinformation on Social Media under their own title rather than just a name so that people know that they are talking to someone official rather than just a farmer they can abuse. They should have all the facts and figures to hand to politely but firmly correct the propaganda the person they are engaging with comes out with. I often feel compelled to call out lies and give the facts back to them but as farmers we just get called abusers, rapists and murderers if we reply. They nearly all come out with the same rubbish that they obviously get from vegan sites and they swarm onto debates to give out their often vicious views which influence those that know no better. For a minimal outlay these organisations could make a massive difference and the people that fund them would finally see something that they felt was making a difference.
I would love to be able to take that role under an official title if I had the time, and it would probably pay better than farming as an added bonus.
Does anybody know if vegans are committing an offence or a hate crime by using the insults above? If they used them to another minority group I'm sure they wouldn't get away with it.

Precisely the NFU should live up to it name and address and educate, as well as red tractor and fawl we pay enough money to fund these organisations and tbh the 5p extra per kg we get for being members of farm assurance scheme’s doesn’t really add up for the hassle, I imagine they are hate crimes people have been prosecuted for less.
