Any recommendation i am looking to get a torch for a propane gas bottle as getting acetenyl is getting costly and harder to get just for heating metal to reshape

yeah its very useful, can get propy. bottles at the garage as well. and i use non rent oxy. bigger bottles than these supply but theyve got torches and nozzles and regulators competitively priced.

or for more choice and spares/bits these are a good firm to get stuff from

I use oxy propane as our insurance won’t cover it in the shed....

You need to use the right cutting tip and understand the cutting distance ( heat zone) is different.

you can use it for:
Heating
Cutting
Melting
Brazing ( silver solder and brazing rods)

you can’t:
Weld stainless or mild steels

Set fire to yourself ( general safety rule really)

Or go bang if you use too much pressure on your reg as it won’t spontaneously combust like acetylene ( but be aware propane has the capacity to pool in low areas so be mindful if you get a leak or working inside something and it goes out..

I think it’s far far safer than acet and 1/8 of the price. But you do use more.

Got a new propane regulator and hose at changeover fairly sure it was a requirement
Yes, that’s true I forgot to mention that, and go buy some blow back arrestors best 40.00 you will spend in your life, as they will save your life when your hose goes off like detonation cord. And propane will rot acetylene hoses, you need propane hoses 15.00 for 10 meter par weld ( 30.00 a set)
