A Conundrum
Grew Zyatt 2018 intention for seed this Autumn
It has yieded close to 10.54 T/Ha but only a protein of 11.69 (yield based on Combine monitor and readjusted to Known quantity sold of known area)
The Crusoe yield was 9.47 with a protein of 13.24-13.74
No folia nitrogen applied and some sold for £140/ton as full speck
Zyatt at the same selling time was priced @ 128
The yield /price difference equates to exactly the same financial income/Ha (my Calculations)
Has anyone else got any Protein figures for Zyatt?
Was Mine just Low? Crusoe and Zyattt both treated the same.
Do I grow Zyatt this autumn instead of Crusoe?
That depends on any info you are able to add!

Crusoe will inherently produce higher proteins than Zyatt, is a characteristic of the variety that it accumulates protein better than other NABIM milling varieties.

So if you are struggling to make spec on your contracts with Zyatt or Skyfall then stick with Crusoe. But you will sacrifice a bit of yield for that but you do get decent Yellow Rust and Septoria resistance but it is very weak to Brown Rust.
