Pto mudguard switch jd 6420

The pto switch on the mudguard of our jd 6420 is getting sticky, 2006 common rail

is it possible put a drop of oil in it somehow or is it a strip down and clean it or is it a new switch

No, tried some WD40 round ours and made it worse.... swelled the plastic expect.
As above, I’d get a new one.

Replaced the switch a week ago and only got to use the tractor with the PTO for the first time today. Im informed the PTO is turning slowly, only half the speed it should be, and all it was doing is pottering around with the fertilizer spreader.

Informed too its reading 540 as expected on the dash.

Any ideas
