Thanks for the advice I’ve got a 3 ton and 13 ton digger guess a ripper tooth wants to be on the bigger machine?
If you’ve got an auger drive motor for either you can get stump planer which look very good

yes, not cheap though. but auger torque make good stuff ime.

come to think of it i wonder if an earth auger could be converted to cut into a stump... :unsure:

narrowest bucket and dig around it works just as well for complete removal, if replanting getting it out and away is better for the new sapling. wood chips down in the ground don't make good soil feed/biology/moisture wise for them .:unsure:
Ripper is way, way better than a narrow bucket.
Been there, even sold some of the stumps and bought a T shirt👍❤️😎

Not forgetting in there’s honey fungus lurking you can make a pile and burn up next year when they are drier.
