Frictional Britain- Public attitudes towards the reintroduction of the Eurasian Beaver in the UK
This survey is part of an undergraduate dissertation in the School of Biosciences at The University of Nottingham. It is aimed at stakeholder groups whom take an interest in the land use throughout the UK such as: farmers, fishing communities, ecologists, and outdoor leisure users. The survey aims to aid understanding of stakeholder’s views towards the reintroduction of native species such as the Eurasian Beaver.
Eurasian beavers were officially reintroduced to the UK in 2009 by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and became a formally recognised species in 2016. There are populations located on the River Tay in central Scotland, and the River Otter in Devon.
The survey is voluntary and anonymous, and no personal details will be asked. Participants can opt of the survey at any time without explanation. Data will be safely stored on the university servers. It will take approximately 6 minutes to complete the 15 questions.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me, Lauren Alexandra Douglas, by email- [email protected] or my supervisor Dr Ruth Blunt: [email protected] . If the matter is not resolved, please contact the School’s Research Ethics Officer, Dr Kate Millar by email- [email protected]
Results will be available from the 1st June in the location where they were surveyed.
