Putting up a new shed, 20 m span 6 m bays 18 degree pitch and using 0.7mm Plastisol sheeting, going with 175x65x1.6mm purlins, what's the max spacing between purlins?
It might need closer spacing at the eaves and ridges, and be dependent on where you are in the country (snow and wind conditions).
Edit - also, it will depends on the purlin strength too. Too far apart and each purlin will be working too hard.
Edit 2 - quick google and it is the purlins that control it. They are quite small for a 6m span. Depends whether you have them single or double/multi-span but you'll need them close together. Nothing more than 1.2m I'd say. Best check with the shed designer though.
Ask the purlin suppliers, 1800mm is the norm on an industrial shed with a composite roof but they are usually 8m span and 202 or 232 deep. The suppliers should have software to check the design.
