Forgot detecting as well, I have found everything from spindle whorls to medieval buttons, musket balls, coins, minnie balls etc but my fave find is a French coin from 1675, a 4 sols silver little beauty and the wondering of how it got here into our tup field. I need to get a Garrett pinpointer!
You sound fully occupied with all that activity  in 2 whole posts but no mention of dancing in your spare time :)

....and Wild Swimming in the cold water ? of Scotland .... well that actually does ............sound a bit daft :D,

Well I've tried something different today .
I found out the local Chapel has been giving out food boxes to those that really need them .....not the usual cadgers!
They are very careful who gets one and seem to have been able to sort it out .
I popped down to get my haircut and the lass was telling me about it and I gave the usual reply "flopping spongers....bet they all got expensive phones and smoke 40 a day " ......No she said quite the opposite ,why don't you go and see, they are packing the boxes up now ...... so I did . ( I left my wellies outside ) .
Each box consisted of some decent quality food ,vegatebles and fruit along with a small roast joint . I would imagine the box value to be around £30 to £40
The Rev explained to me that they didn't rely on social services for recommendations but word of mouth from neighbours etc . " why don't you come along with me now" .....so I did !
.......well it opened my eyes ...
Today I saw Poverty that I've never ever seen before within a few miles of where I live !
The Rev told me they can't tell me her circumstances, and I probably don't need to know , but he assured me that she was a genuine case and when she first popped up on their 'radar' she hadnt got a clue about meal preparation etc but the good ladies from the chapel have been teaching her how to cook etc and it's made a huge difference to her lifestyle and the 2 little kiddies .
I asked him about how they finance it and he said it's all paid for by the folks who go to the Chapel .
Today they gave out 7 boxes !!!
Top Job!!!

I've been dropping ready packed bags in Morrison's for the last 18months or so. Simple things already packed by Morrisons like Toothpaste shower gel.. or biscuits squash or a Baby pack. Only £10 or so each week but it will help someone with nothing.

They all go in the right direction aswell so end up where needed.

I've no time for the self inflicted cases but quite happy to help genuine folks.

I don't get to do as much of these things as I would like but try to do a wee bit of everything as much as I can. The water is only cold when you first get in, then the rush of endorphins take over and your fine, you should try it. There is nothing better than swimming in a loch with the mountains above you! Dancing these days usually consists of pickup seat dancing when a good tune come on the radio or the heated seats are up too high :playful: :ROFLMAO:

Ps. I chose my name carefully!
I also dance in the sheep pens, helps keep me nimble when Blackie tups are trying to do the mosh pit takedown of my knees!:D

you must be joking even the fish don't wild swim around here :ROFLMAO:

but yes some days i could do with something to make me o_O and somewhere up on the moor would be more suitable i should think. :cautious:
Sounds like a good choice to live where you do.

but i must admit a trip to the City takes me out of the 'farm mentality' , every now and then.....or the Sea ...

Never had much intrest In relaxing time but now I’m getting older and kids are growing up fast we’ve bought a cabin on an island. Nearest neighbour is on the other side of the lake. Kids and wife spend a lot of the summer there. I’ve got to go a few times and found fishing relaxing and exciting all in one. Very quiet there and bursting with wildlife. Everything from bears to wolves to ground hogs.

A beautiful place for wildlife watching. as I get older I like to see some wildlife around the farm. but most of my fields are wide open and have little to shelter fir wildlife.

not meaning to sound funny (not haha) but by the looks of that the whole area in those pics ,
the area i farm would possibly fit into those large field(s) and its full, full of wildlife, not wolves exactly but just about everything, relevant to this part of the World for the last Century or so at least..you almost trip over it of a quiet early morning, the skies full of small (and birds ) the sounds, last night the Barn Owl screeching down the valley, ducks moorhens herons, foxes badgers:oops: rabbits:oops: finches sparrows sparrow hawks buzzards i could go etc etc
but its no exaggeration , and i also like to see it all (in balance of course :cautious:) and its there we are host to it.
Certainly wrong to lump all farms together for environmental benefit etc, and indeed compare with other Countries so radically different there's such a diverse and varying mix....🤪

Yes i love to see the wildlife as well.

that block of ground in the pictures is pretty much void of wildlife apart from the passing geese. Far removed from where I was farming in the uk. My comment on watching wildlfe was referring to the island in the san Juan island. Nit been there myself but in-laws have and say it’s a fantastic place to see. Your certainly in a place teaming with wildlife by the sounds of it and a credit to you for farming with nature and not destroying their natural environment.

... not an option when working with professional models, even direct drilling isn't allowed :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The funny thing is that over the years I have worked with some absolutely stunning models including some in various levels of undress & it does nothing for me in that sense, which is just as well because that sort of thing is very much frowned upon & if you get a reputation then you end up pretty much blacklisted!
I suspect if you persisted you'd get blackballed as well (in every sense of the word!)
