Anybody have a good source for these, the ones I've been using are in a tick-tack type box and labelled jcb, been about as good as I can find but broke a few the other day, just wondering if theres any better.

Simple question, what are the best bits for impact drivers? I had quite some Wera bits from the local toolguy but they don't seem to last. First they bend and then the edges wear off. I talked to a contractor that liked Wiha bits, I was going to try them but the shop he got them from didn't do...

Dewalt do them in packs of 5, they seem to take a lot of punishment.

I randomly picked up a tub of 50 Makita ones (stubby) on the counter at Huws Gray years ago just as I was signing for some other bits. I still have more than half left and since having an impact driver and not a drill for the job have dramatically reduced damadging, breaking and wearing them out aswell.

The one thing that breaks them is driving the screw with the bit misaligned. This puts all the load on one lug which then shears off.

DeWalt here. I've often found that any tools with JCB written on doesn't seem to last very well

Made a c@#£up (slight misalignment) fixing drive gate hinges, 120mm screws driven home with the impact driver but keep breaking the bits trying to get them out again. Some sheared clean off with the bit end still in the screw, often doubted jcb tools so wondered what else is quality out there, they were better than some of the chocolate I’d used before but sure there must be better

Screwfix. Just make sure you are buying the impact version

Give them a try, the slim shank helps stop screws snapping and is less bulky in a tight spot.

Milwaukee set here, seem to be standing up well so far. Have been using an impact driver on them so maybe thats helped.

Makita torsion bits if in an impact driver, they do ones with pz2 on either end. Handy when they do eventually break as you can just turn the bit round.

You need to buy wehra bits or Milwaukee impact rated bits I’ve gone through a lot of the cheaper ones as they just shatter with an impact driver. Pay for the dearer ones there cheaper by miles in the long run unless you like loosing them
