Stop a quad and jump off, it just sits.

Stop a bike and jump off ...................................!
Put the kick stand down.

You can even move your dog on a 2 wheel bike.

I toyed with getting 1. (Wouldn't have been a mega expensive 1)
But not very practical for the dog. Or bringing back the dead sheep you find up the road at grass keep.
Dog would just have to run with me, not got miles to go so no big deal.would just go back with the bike to pick up dead stuff.
I'd be after using it for leisure purposes too, which is why I'd be going for an expensive one.

That's ok if very quiet roads.
Kind of defeats the object if you have to go back if there's any issues/ treatments needed though.
1 of these is quite tempting though (moving away from the pedal power)

What's the realistic range?

I wonder if a lot of quad work could be replaced with a cheaper 2 wheel bike. Would improve quad lifespan and reduce fuel consumption/costs.

i workerd somewhere that thought this and replaced quads with those Ecorider Hippos because they did about 160mpg on red…..it lasted about 6 months before going back to quads!

Interesting these aren't issues in Australia/NZ.
Not really.

Michelin have three grades of off-road tyre, soft, medium, hard.

In the UK we nearly always use soft, maybe for a few weeks in a particularly dry spell a medium may be suitable but it's so rare that few spend the money on them.

In places like Australia and western states of the US they seldom use anything other than the hard, Michelin don't even import it to the UK!

I befriended a world traveling Aussie a few years ago, his father worked a cattle station in the outback which he would return to but wanted to see a bit of the world first. He used a moto-x bike as he said it was the only thing fast enough to cover the amount of ground he needed to travel. I asked him what he done when he needed to stop (moto-x bikes have no stand of any description), he said he didn't stop very often!
