quick fixes, bodges and creations

Years ago I used to have a Yamaha DT175 trail bike, which I used around the farm, and fitted a rear carrier to it. A 20 litre spray can with the side cut out and bolted to the carrier made a good top box.
I used to refer to the bike as my 2 wheeled Landrover.

I meant bend them while shut, and only bend them enough so that both the posts and your knuckles don't touch

Didn’t realise that it was shut in the picture! Bending the handles would work on that one alright! Most I see the handles are fairly close to parallel when shut so there isn’t much room to bend them in!

I'll have to take a picture tomorrow of what my dad has bodged up on the same type of tank to hold the cover down when the plastic bolts holding it down snapped. It makes this look professional!

Dad's bodge to fix the cover for the water tank after cattle pushed their feed over it and broke the plastic bolts holding it down. Tied half a concrete block to it to weigh it down to stop the cattle rattling it quite so much. The pallet is tied to the barrier so the cattle in the next pen can't reach the string to chew it and open it. (They have their own water tank) I think this qualifies as a bodge!
