plastic bit with spring in middle that went through the centre of the toilet roll and located by spring pressure into dimples in tha rather nice strong stainless wall mounting , never held very well and the roll of paper fell off annoyingly frequently when pulled ,
Drilled out the 2 dimples, cut a length of stainless m8 threaded bar stainless nylock nut on one end and a stainless wing nut on the other (y)

'nother domestic one...
Pump went on 9 yr old Aeg washing machine ,so whilst fitting a new one i spotted that it actually had 2 pipes and solenoid valves for cold and hot water inlet and all wired in but they terminated into one for the cold inlet as per modern machines do now,
Anyway we have fair bit of hot water to spare and so happens i hadnt got round to getting rid of the previous scrap one :sneaky:and it was from the day when they had 2 inlet pipes and all that goes with it.
de wired the hot side of the double valve on the aeg and Fitted the valve and pipe from the old machine through previously blanked off hole,on aeg in back ... and wired it up with the 2 wires from the disconnected one and low and behold ..it actually worked so the electronics must support hot as well as cold because its still cold rinse.but hot water fills for the wash saving some electric heating .if you follow :oops:.
happy days.

We were looking for a h&C filling machine, most manufacturers just didn't. possibly change their tune with the price of leccy the way it is. Super bodge BTT
Been thinking about this today - how about a thermostatic mixer valve set to 40 degrees to feed the washer ?....Since I converted the Rayburn back to wood , we have plenty of hot water.

Trouble is with modern washers and 30 deg washes it's no good. Worth checking manual as to whether you can connect to a hot supply not exceeding x deg but unlikely any will say you can now.
