Rain Scald in Cows

Hi i have a 5 month old calf that the vet says its rain scald along his back..Whats the best treatment for it hes currently on penicillin and anti inflammatory..Is there a cream that I can apply to the cuts as they are quite sore and inflamed..What do you guys use?

If the vet has diagnosed as rain scald, it needs an anti bacterial wash, spray with a dilute povodine iodine solution, via a pump spray, and dry it off well, Keep it separate from others too, I wouldn't use any cream till the scabs had lifted, then use green oils, or udder cream(not mint)
If same as horses, it will get it again, get it away once right.

Cornucrescine used for horses is brilliant for promoting hair growth once new skin has formed, dont use on open wounds though.
