Can I have that in writing?I’m with anymule I know it’s possible to fence without but the plastic posts would be forever getting bent or snapped and the wire earthing out on bushes ect

Only if you teach me how too expertly draft hoggsCan I have that in writing?
Shut your eyes, tap your left foot against the shedding gate 4 times, turn anti-clockwise 7 1/4 times while repeating “but they were cheap”. Then away you go.Only if you teach me how too expertly draft hoggs
Now we’re all getting a bit fancy with metal rappa stakes aswellTbh I always tie back to the hedge if there is one available, but use a (homemade) corner post where that’s not an option.
I tie a string from the base of the hedge to the top of a metal RAPPA stake, then loops of string from that post round the wire (rather than use the plastic insulators). Occasionally I do the same, but with the string from the bottom of a metal stake to the top of another.
Where would be without bale string?

Always wondered if they were man enough too use as corner posts? Like would they handle a full 90 degree corner at tension?Bought secondhand on here, after being bought be DEFRA originally, to reheft sheep after F&M in 2001.
I only use them on corners, or on short runs for ewe lamb training.

They make a great earth stake upside down and hammered in until the step hits the floor! Not on their own, hence the bale string between two stakes. I don’t think the insulators are reliable enough either, hence more string…
The steel is quite soft, so easily bent.
Get you showing off with all red wires and stakes the same colour! Honestly you’re as bad as @neiloOne day I’ll get one of those fancy front racks and a reel holder too be all posh I do have 4 reel posts though! But when iv 20-25 systems I guess that’s not a lot

Jesus f**king Christ.Every colour of the rainbow
You mean you don’t have poly and steel wire on the same reel? Or 2 ft of poly in the middle of a steel one where it got mullered and you had too splice a new bit in at 8pm on a Sunday evening in the rain?? Honestly man, you’ve not lived!Jesus f**king Christ.
No, no I do not.You mean you don’t have poly and steel wire on the same reel? Or 2 ft of poly in the middle of a steel one where it got mullered and you had too splice a new bit in at 8pm on a Sunday evening in the rain?? Honestly man, you’ve not lived!
That looks like enough wire to reach. No, no I do not.
All my plastic stakes are yellow rappa. All my corner posts are rappa. I have 5 for each system.
All my reel posts are rappa. I have one for each system.
I have a knocking cap so I don't bend the top of my corner posts and reel posts.
All my fences are steel on the bottom and 2x orange poly for the middle and top. All reels are 600m long. I map my paddocks with the app beforehand so know how many systems I need.
Every time wire is cut and tied it increases the resistance and lowers the power. So I don't do that. I will and have put in an extra 600m system to cover 10m.
