Rat proofing

last year we've had some rats climb over the precast concrete walls in our grain store, so was wondering what other people used to stop the little critters climbing over the top

You need shedder flashings ontop of walls

You need something like this, get a galvanised flashing made

Shedder flashings fit over panel and on to the lowest sheeting rail Usually have foam fillers on sheets as well to stop insects,mice birds etc

We are in the process of changing our stock foam fillers from PE to Supaseal.

There hasn't been any tests done but we have been told by our customers that have used them that rats, mice and seagulls don't seem to like them for some reason where as PE foam they seem to eat through.

There are all sorts of things on this site www.pestcontrolsupermarket.com. Before you do anything I'd recommend setting up some bait blocks as these help you work out where they're coming from etc and even if you can't catch them all you can understand the best way to stop them getting into the grain store. Certainly don't want to start buying rat poison though - obviously - not with all that feed around!
