Still curious as to a 1974 P reg 165 having lift rods if chains were the normNo problem, It is nearly 50 years ago so its difficult to remember exactly
I like the rods better too
First dealing I had with those were on a 1978 T plate 565was the rods the type like a big u shape, or were they the later type single round rod that went through an eye?
i dont know when that type came outFirst dealing I had with those were on a 1978 T plate 565
Ony chance the hitch came off an earlier tractor or old stock baring in mind hitches were dealer fit items . The first 590 was ordered here when a stranger came in for a bag of tatties opened his boot to put the bag in and this wooden massey box is sitting , that any use? he says, eh what are you wanting says I ,another bag of tatties secured it, the 590 got a hitch for 2 bags of tattiesStill curious as to a 1974 P reg having lift rods if chains were the norm
Just I seen a 188 with the rod type hitch, I can't remember what reg it was, it had no cabFirst dealing I had with those were on a 1978 T plate 565
a tractor of that era with no cab just does not look rightJust I seen a 188 with the rod type hitch, I can't remember what reg it was, it had no cab
Why would they go from these rods to chains , backward step to me .Ive done a bit of research

looking it the pics, it does look untouched, but there is something that may not be right,
can you guess what it is ? or am i wrong
Our 168 had that type of hitch with the chains, a bloody awful arrangement. I would rather have had the old Ferguson "T" bar type PUH than that thing .@Pennine Ploughing
Lift chains rather than lift rods on PUH, never seen that before, but look original!

Yes I was in college with a lad who had lost half of all 4 fingers on one hand having had got them trapped on rod of a 135 hitchIt was likely hood of folk getting their fingers trapped in loop that saw the end of that design
