Looking to buy a used hedge cutter. Budget is aout £4000. What is the best machines we could get for that sort of money?

We currently have a cable control bamford b467. Looking for something that leaves a better finish and possibly easier to use.

At that price don't worry about make .Just find the best condition for the money. We went through it last year with Simaler budget and ended up spending just over £5000 on a spearhead. Most cheap machines are on cable controls and we wanted joystick so that limited our choice at that budget.we are verry happy with the spearhead having come from a bomford b48.it's a lot nicer to use

There is no reason why a B467 shouldn't leave a good finish.

How often do you cut ?

What time of year do you cut ?

What type of flails do you have ?

Do you sharpen your flails ?

Are you driving too fast ?

What height is the rear roller ?

What pto speed are you running at ?

Yes there are better machines with bigger pumps, wider heads ,more reach, heavier flails ,parallel linkage, slew and electric controls, but they still need regular maintenance and a sympathetic operator.
