Was very up to the job in every minute detail and not to be reasoned with :banghead:
We had one like that once who came very close to leaving the yard needing a surgical operation to remove his clipboard!!!!!

I complained and was told by the inspector the next year he was no longer doing assessments.

What really done it was when he asked dad what qualifications and training he had to be a farmer!!!!!
Dad asked him what his previous job was and he said he "was" a farm managed!!!!!

Dads reply was "well you couldn't have been a lot of bloody good at it or you'd still be doing it and not walking around with a clipboard under your arm stopping us that can farm from doing it".......... Miraculously we passed😯🤷😂😂😂😂😂

just got off the phone to nfu bod who rang back after i ranted a reply to one of 'minnys vlogs'

snippets

1/ nfu along with ufu .ahdb and brc do not own rt apparently....it's completely 'independant' :scratchhead:
2/ rt are pitching for elms
3/ nfu got a response to their consultation but are not allowed to share it.....something they 'kicked back at'
4/ i've been promised an 'over view' of nfu membership after i challenged on non farmer member influence .....they deny and i should get an email next week
5/ you can reply to 'minnys vlogs' and they are read;)
6/ i didn't hold back;)

From the red tractor website:

As a non-for-profit company we have six company guarantors: NFU, Dairy UK, Ulster Farmers' Union, AHDB, BRC and NFU Scotland. The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) also act as an observer.

So what's a company guarantor? I'll look it up.

Limited company guarantors, also known as ‘members’, can be individuals or corporate bodies. Whether they become members during or after incorporation, a guarantor of a limited company is essentially an owner of the organisation. They have ultimate control of the company, they delegate powers to the company directors, and they commit to pay a fixed sum of money (a guarantee) to the company if it can’t meet its financial obligations. This financial ‘guarantee’ establishes the guarantor’s limited liability to the company.

So there you have it. The non farmers union are a bunch of liars. On the one hand they say they don't own, on the red tractor website, they are named as company guarantors which means they are owners.

Completely independent my arse.

looks like she lied to me  .....a 'guarantor' owns a share by fact they're willing to supply funds to a limit if needed

Take it from me, changing the attitude/view of the NFU President to RT is a task that not even Hercules would entertain.

better to try and fail than to do nowt and harbour resentment

i told her the ahdb were far more sympathetic re RT than NFU but despite this i'd be campaigning when the vote on levy comes against paying it simply because they were 'guilty by association' with RT.....then they would be next

if you start a 'fight' you have to believe you'll win no matter how it looks at outset.....who'dve thought wla coulda been stopped at outset

when she started to defend RT she said some nz farmers were producing lamb to rt standards for tesco.....i simply said 'let them and leave us alone'....she seemed shocked by this response

The RSPB has recently joined the board??? it's supposed to be Assured Food Standards how on earth have they ended up on the board? Think we can expect more hoops to jump through.

Pretty sure that website hasn’t been updated since the early 2000s when RT was launched - it looks dated. They’ve long since dropped the “little” in the name.

I assume it was made by NFU as a a promotional method…..it reads pretty much like their stuff with all the hyping up.

It’s because the retailers have to pay royalties to RT to use the logo and they know that a Union Jack has more effect and is free…..
The only reason RT still exists in the combinables sector is the collusion and market manipulation of RT and AIC which means U.K. crops have to be assured and foreign ones are magically assured on the boat over.

Braver man than me saying that to your dad!! He's a lovely bloke but the size of him, I wouldn't want to rile him up 😳 (nor you 😂)

This is the sort of thing that annoys me most. Lies.

We know and the NFU know they co-own Red Tractor and yet they publicly lie and claim they don't. They lie to their own members to hide the fact ,sheer contempt.

If the NFU love the Red Tractor so much why lie? Why not admit ownership, responsibility and pride it?

So what's the ahdb doing owning a share of red tractor?? Or is this no longer the case.

If they do still own it, there will be huge implications if and when there is a vote on the future of the ahdb
