Was under the belief that due to data protection, the details of medicines purchased by farmers cannot be given to red tractor by vet practices is this still not the case?

Certainly used to be true

Just don't have any part bottles in the main medicine cupboard and don't document its use in the main records just keep a note somewhere out of sight for yourself

RT may not be able to get it direct off the vet practice but they do require a coalition of antibiotics bought, so the farmer has to effectively supply them with a list.
I’m sure some milk contracts also require signing up to letting the milk buyer see your vet bills

Like already mentioned, what about likes of zactran? 100 ml would last forever?! And alamycin etc
Think from now on I shall just put down in the med records I've used the entire bottle in 28 days and then hide the bottle elsewhere and use as and when I want

They aren't going to bloody know any different and it makes 0 difference to the animal.

Why would a full course result in an empty bottle.
Dosages are dictated by weight and quite often it's not stipulated wether it should be 3 or 4 days
Our vets will also tell us to give a big dose on day one and the inject x amount everyday til bottom is empty
Seems stupid to get bottles bigger than 100 mls unless blanket use on calves or young stock for pneumonia or such like
A lot of vaccines once opened have to be used within a set number of hours/days
And how many of you inject a cow and then use that same needle to stick back in the bottle to inject a different cow and potentionally put crap into the product your using to cure

Just a note of caution. I have just failed and my inspector is currently failing over 50% of his visits.
It turns out that once a seal is broken on antibiotic it is out of date within 28 days. So medicine book checked for first use of batch number and if more than 28 days ago bottle shouldn't have been there regardless of date on label.
Had a bottle of synulox catch me out.

Lesson learnt.
How about clearing out your medicine cupboard before inspection leaving just a few bottles in it that is correct according to the medicine book

What’s to stop the RT inspector going further back in your medicine book and cross referencing what’s used against what’s bought as you have to have a coalition of antibiotics bought.

I might not like RT but I don’t think they’re complete idiots,
