Just have a look at the share price charts for Beyond Meat and Oatly. Heartwarming.

Can anyone explain the drastic drop from May to now?
Because 6 months is the average time people hope it takes for others to forget about their well documented self righteousness journey of enlightenment?.. 🤷‍♂️

Say they embraced veganism in January and it took them till may to realise it’s a stupid idea and they felt ill, but they still need to maintain the premise for their new friends on the peta web chat, which they slowly drop out of over the coming months, then come Christmas/New Year they go a bit man v food during the hols, feel guilty, forget vegan food is shite and expensive then repeat the process.

Just a theory!

Over-ambitious targets not being met. Price cutting to try to shift product. Then a slow realisation that the founders bringing this garbage to market were all about getting the IPOs off to a flying start, sucking the mug punters in and then gradually selling off their holdings while the going was good. Nothing new in the stockmarket these days.

All these processed food companies are devouring themselves with this. If they can't keep on fooling people then it all just gradually loses profitability until there are no margins left. Enthusiasm givies way to reality with everything eventually.....

Yes, as one of my friends and neighbours puts it, "you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool everyone all the time"
