Has Dr Mark Carney just signalled a new golden opportunity for land managers and possibly farmers) to manage corporations carbon off-setting? Or Has he just underpinned the financial value of land?

There's your clue.
Heard the first two lectures and the sort of top-down nonsense you would expect from someone with his CV. He thinks corporations are part of the solution. They're not.
He was reading from Greta's address to them and then linking how positive funding can change things. Load of baloney. DEFRA here want to kill off and over regulate the livestock sector. Local food networks should help but try opening local small abattoirs and on-farm slaughtering and walking your cow to market these days

1k an acre it is then 😄, cos what ever he murmurs 180° in opp direction is what happens, at least he is a good barometer on what to do as long as you do the opposite. 😃
Is that 1k/year or 1k for the 30 year 'contract'?

For me if it was 1k/year my landlord would be after a big slice of the action. If it was a 30 year contract my landlord would want to be in control of all the action.
Basically, farmers options may be limited. Landowner options a bit more scope, until you realise that the green carbon friendly corporations will have a significant hold over future land use

Carney is remembered by myself as being the most biased Governar of the BE,came across as a champange socialist, who reads the Gruniad for breakfast. He also predicted doom & gloom for the economy of our country.
They're on one big gravy boat round trip just like Christine Lagarde - I thought she was about to get arrested and charged for something only a while back?

I was referring to you saying price of land to be underpinned by his comments , I was sarcastically meaning the price of land 1k an acre to buy 😄, tounge in cheek 🤓

I remember when it was announced he was coming here Canada breathed a sigh of relief. Good luck with him they said.

Gobsh1te of the highest order. Quite how people like these rise to the top is a mystery.
He is a graduate who went through the Goldman Sachs graduate scheme, which trains up our future lord and masters!!.
