Renting a field for a wedding

Any tips for what to put into a fairly simple contract for 100 people renting a 5 acre field for 3 days? I'm going to ask for a returnable deposit which they'll get back if the field is returned as they found it. Should I specify parking and party areas in the contract?

No idea but also be aware of things that could possibly come back and bite you under HASAW legislation such as safe access and egress, water (purity of) and electricity (safety of) if supplied by you; if not what are their arrangements for this? Also potential for contamination (e.g. Ecoli 0157 etc) if animals have been on the land previously etc.

Oh and I used to be an EHO at North Dorset District Council in another life. Small world.

Well fancy that....I used to make ice-cream so EHOs were part of my life!

Supplying just the field, no electricity but there is water - on a mains pipe. No animals in since the year before so that's covered. I have a campsite there so covered by my insurance. There is a river but there is a locked field gate - insurance are happy with that.

Wedding in a field. Great.
Well sign-posted to cut the risk of lost vehicles turning in silly places.
Water on site for the catering. I had trough that I disconnected. Run the water for twenty minutes or more depending on the distance from the water main for leigonella/purity.

Ban all those plastic glitter stars/confetti items completely. This took me such a long time to pick up & was really worrying as the sheep would have ingested them.
Otherwise just enjoy!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
