still think a s/h Grand Cherokee is worth a look.. A lot of car there. £20k will get you a three year old one with less than 30k on clock Powerful 3lt V6 merc engine, will do 100mph+ easily, 3.5t capacity, ground clearance, proper 4wd with low ratio, locking diffs, will seat 5 comfortably with room for a full sized dog in the back.. Reliability not that bad, certainly better than a disco/ range rover sport and only half the price of one when they're 3 yrs old.
They haven't used Mercedes engine for many years now have they? I think they use FPT VM Diesel engines from Italy. Fiat have owned Jeep for quite some time and also own VM engines.

EDIT
Just checked and VM Motori Diesel engines have been fitted since 2011. From 2015 to 2010 they fitted Mecedes, as the Company was called Daimler Chrysler back then. It went bust and was bought by Fiat and is now known a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles [FCA]

Poor Jeep Dealerships though I find with many of them burning too many candles.

Vacant look at the parts desk.. but they know the part number of screw for a Fiat 500.

And simple things on back order with 8 weeks delivery time.

Fly it out of Memphis and to my door in 2 days at less cost aswell.
