reservoir Grazing

Been offered the banks of a reservoir for grazing. Stock fenced around the bottom, but unsure whether to bother fencing the top round the water… what do you all think?
Don’t want to waste my time or 1000 corner posts 🤣 but also, the liner is slippery if they do go a bit close to the water.
Just wondered what everyone else does?

Is it worth it. A lot of fencing for not a lot of grazing.
I used to let the grazing around several large drinking water reservoirs. It was more trouble than it was worth.

I have to keep any young stock away from the water in the reservoir we farm around - anything that is on mothers milk - Crypto worries.

They didn't want it fenced for wildlife access at the start and I still don't for sheep (natural banks, Easycare sheep like swimming a bit in the hot weather but they don't go far) cattle on the other hand, without fence, straight in up to their bellies, churning up the silt and getting stuck potentially.

There is about 60 acres of water and I wouldn't want the job of trying to find enough rope to pull them out.

We now have a single strand of electric around the water for them and the ducks walk under it.
