Reversing into the record books.

Would it not damage the gearbox? One of my friends once reversed his citroen saxo home from the pub one night, sober of course! Would be 3-4 miles and it wrecked gear box.

The observer effect.If an observer is present, saying,er, left hand down a bit, my space/time co-ordinates will be affected and something will get broken (again).:(
Tis true. Reverse on my own......amazing :happy: Someone starts doing random hand movements saying "lock it in" and it all goes to b*llocks :(

If you have a banksman you do need someone who has 100% concentration on getting you where you want to be. When the "your fine, keep coming" wave was really waving at passing neighbours, or they get bored with the time you're taking and start looking in someone's garden at their flowers, but still telling you bags of room until there is a load crunch you are often better off by yourself. :(

I would say as reverse is used less and would normally have less torque going through it the gears would be slightly smaller and the idler bearings prob smaller than if it was the equivalent forward gear
