Revoke Article 50 Petition

Has it really crashed, or are there darker forces at work to reduce the voting volumes?
Am I overthinking this, but WD has gone missing;)

yes it's really crashing off and on due to the traffic overload. The site settings should be changed imo. Currently they have it on auto refresh so that the number of signatures automatically update. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't be a problem, but with this high volume of traffic it is a problem. The webmaster should disable the auto update and set it to manual refresh. That would go a long way to helping the page cope with the extraordinary high volume of traffic imo

And it's been down almost as much as it has been up. I wonder how that compares to other similarly high profile campaigns, and I also wonder how TM can state that she is doing the will of the people - plainly, 'The people' do not have a single collective will.

here's your answer

A lot of people have been asking about numbers. Between 80,000 and 100,000 people have been simultaneously viewing the petition to revoke article 50. Nearly 2,000 signatures are being completed every minute.

The rate of signing is the highest the site has ever had to deal with and we have had to make some changes to ensure the site remains stable and open for signatures and new petitions. Thanks for bearing with us.

Wake me when it gets to 20 million.

I don't think anyone thinks that likely, but it is interesting to compare against the other petitions related to Brexit, and see the massive difference in public opinion here.

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions?q=brexit

Final deal Referendum 145k
Leave immediately 142k
People's vote if parliament reject the deal 137k
etc.

and then we have today's, which is probably going to get through 1 million in the first full day since it was launched. That's a serious raising of the bar and reflects a very strong public opinion.

Shame Remain didn't vote with the same fervour 3 years ago . :)
Yep, Project Fear from the likes of Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne ( and our own dear Mrs May ) didn't strike the right note did it?
The only thing they did right was obey electoral law and not tell great big whopping lies.

Sorry I took the bait, couldn't stop myself!
