Apparently BASF finally have a new fungicide coming to the table this spring. Works really hard which is good to know, any comments @An Gof ?? Care, Simplicity and Confidence, sounds awesome plus less reliant on perfect weather conditions which is handy.....

Sounds like the BASF marketing team have done a Properjob on you! ;)

To be fair the performance does look pretty good, but as @Fromebridge alludes to, at what price?
I can't see that many people being short of CTL this year so it might well struggle to compete on bang for buck against full rate CTL (to use it up before it becomes toxic waste!) +partner. Next year will be a very different story, but of course we will all be that much older and wiser by then!

There was a BASF open event in Herefordshire last summer, lots of varieties sprayed with their new fungicide alongside others, (high disease pressure site) but they decided not to put CTL with anything. Their new product looked very good compared to others, but on the whole all looked dreadful, showing what we're going to miss when CTL is gone.

Went to the same event in Suffolk 2x ctl was way better than all the other plots In fairness to BASF they agreed

I have a good idea on price but get into enough trouble as it is over this place. Expect price to be 'robust' but assurances the yield response will more than pay for it.

They have done such a good job on me in the past I no longer grow wheat  Rotation, only consists of potatoes, osr, beans and mainly barley.

Joking aside, the agchem industry in the UK has the equivalent hold over farmers in the way that the pharmaceutical industry has over medical care in the States. SDHI's are like opioid painkillers in my opinion. Not sure why this new product is being partnered with one, makes no sense when in the absence of CTL, old SDHI's are all but useless, well that is my own personal experience with resistant Septoria.

The loss of CTL will definitely change things quite a bit cropping wise. What with everything else that is going on as an industry we are going to need a different mindset to move forward.

I look forward to seeing the NIAB TAG review of this, alongside the current top shelf of products.
