Ringworm?

I wouldn't do anything looking at him-he's taking no harm.
If I were to come back as an animal, I'd want to be @sjewart's place, that's for sure :)
Thank you @Flossie. Im going to monitor him as per @bovine's suggestion. They get a bit of feed once a day so, as per usual for me, il check he's in with the rest and taking his fair share. No doubt he picked it up from the trough or the close proximity when at trough. That one heifer that had it in April has a lot to answer for! The ringworm cleared up on her completely a month ago but she only had a few spots of it. This stot is much worse - bad behind ears and obviously has big ring on forehead and other small rings on face and neck.

We use some stuff from the vet to spray on them, bactokill or something like that its called, it seems to work though with this sort of thing you can never tell if it would have gone on its own anyway
sump oil will work as well if not better and is cheaper but I wouldn't use it if you want to sell the animal or any in the group for the next few weeks

Used to use Gentian Violet and a toothbrush and it always worked a treat. Not sure you can get Gentian Violet anywhere now. (It was what made purple spray the proper colour!)

It carcinogenic so I really hope not!

Latest research has shown that it is useful in MRSA treatment, and research is ongoing into using it to decrease hemangioma.

The carcinogenic element was taken into account here, but as the cattle would be slaughtered within a year, it was thought the benefits outweighed the risk of other infections from the broken skin from the ringworm rubbing.

Recently? We have safe and effective treatments that don't cause cancer (Imaverol and Ringvac).

It was found to cause thyroid cancer in rats that were fed it for 2 years. If you fed a dose of iodine to 10 people for a week, 10 thyroids would give up within that week.
Asprin would never get through the testing now.
