What’s everyone’s FPDs run at? Had a 511 last collection but tend to be 514-515 which is still lower than we were in a parlour, having a 21000 silo and sending 8000EOD prob doesn’t help ours

Only ask because there is a Northern Irishman who is looking to put in 8 robots now & another 8 next year who also runs an AD plant as well as a number of other business interests.

I was at this farm last week.and it is very impressive. They have 6 VMS on the go, 4 def running with a milk first trafficked system. They are also running a rotary parlour beside this for 260 cows, with the plan of phasing this out and getting more cows.

Greta place, fair play to him.

Pretty sure that the guy I was thinking of is putting in Lely machines (at least that is what Jim Irwin said. Perhaps the farmer/businessman changed his mind?).

From what we hear this side of the Irish Sea, you boys are all out for renewables so there could be more than one multi bot farm with an AD plant (not to mention a biomass boiler :))

Seeing double ?
No, cows got their new transponders on ready to change the readers this week.
Allegedly - better battery life, 4.5 year warrenty, 99% accuracy of ID, Radio rather than IR so activity / rumination data is transfered realtime, not just at visit time.

Are these still SCR transponders??

Only asking because i am hearing rumours that Lely are switching to NEEDAP soonish (hence the reason why it took months to get new/refurbed SCR IR transponders - allegedly)

Did lely do you a buyback deal ?
Prefer not to talk numbers in public there was a deal also involving a grant scheme.

Did them over a few days, most put on cow in cubicle or in the robot, only a handful of silly buggers needed catching in the yokes.
Big pain will be typing all the new numbers into the computer while the readers are being changed
We still have a few new ones from start up and 20 odd to go back so been advised by our centre to use them up before changing as lely will honour the p/x deal for another 12/18 mnths

Is there such a thing as an auto doser for robots or a drafting race in a normal parlour? Thinking something that would apply fly treatment every 5-6weeks, without having to draft cows etc.

Like an automatic teat sprayer but upside down?

Maybe something along the lines of a weed wipe would work?
