Robotic milking

The Monobox's that are in seem to be doing well, still relatively new so time will tell.
Has anyone got the new merlin m2? How are they going on? look smart, dare I say more compact and tidier than the lely.
Not sure I'd agree with Monobox's doing well a lot came out after year or so in Europe and the one down at Kingshay have been problematic
Some friends of mine started with 4 M2's in January even though they were already milking three times a day, they're now averaging 40 litres a cow, don't think they've had a breakdown yet either.

Just out of interest, what made it unfeasible? Was it the cost of the machine or more so the upkeep and repair/service costs?
Cost of running 2 machines at basically 2/3 capacity on lower yielding grass based system. My son isn’t particularly mechanical so in my absence, costly call outs.We also squeezed the robot into the existing shed so infrastructure cost would have been getting on towards the cost of the parlour works.
