Robotic milking

Anyone having problems getting heifers or cows to stand still in a robot check out our website www.soshoofcare,com on NZ Cow Pacifiers. Sold one last week to a farmer who put robots in a few months ago and was having some problems getting heifers to stand still while robotic arm attached cups. Used pacifier and cups went on right away. Even give a 7 day money -back-if-not-happy guarantee!

Erm ... your web address is wrong! Then when I finally sussed it out it says "see the videos of the pacifier in use at the bottom of the next page" which isn't exactly easy to understand till you see the bit in brackets after it - wouldn't a link there be better??

:)

At last... what on earth happened to BFF...? Anyway, found you all now - and someone's nicked my name!

Wanted to invite the BFF users to our open day on 10th April. Now its the farming forum may I extend the invite to the rest of the world! There are some international visitors coming- from Denmark, Holland and France already.
We also have David Handley and Ian Potter coming to speak and offer their views on the next ten years (as its 10 years since our last big day)

See and circulate the attached invite and hope to see you there?

I would really like to go, but at that time we will in the south west. Will see what we can do.
Anybody know of any open days in the south west in the begining of April?

Hello everyone. Looking at setting up a auto hoof spraying system on my 2 A4s, to be able to deal with warts and eliminate messing with footbaths. A friend of mine has been in touch with the Canadian importer of the 'Bovi Booster' system, I think originally from Denmark, the system is newly available here. Problem is, the ballpark quote he got was around $10000 to outfit two robots.
Has anyone rigged up their own system? I can't see it being very difficult, maybe use the post teat spray as a starting signal to activate a couple of floor mounted nozzles? Comments? Suggestions?

I'm Sure happy cow on here rigged up a couple of volume washer nozzle's in the back of his Merlin's, they blasted the feet for a set time every time the back gate closed or the arm started to move , so the feet kept clean , you could also rig a dosatron on the water supply and add chemical for a couple of days a week , not so easy on an A4 though with no back wall.

I talk to guy at stratford show same machine I think He was talking 5800 for one unit have not heard from him though. Mike from Penner has a guy with one installed I beleive. All you need is a pressure tank I think he said it runs around 90 psi.

A fellow we stayed with manages estates so he had access to the farms. Saw the new milk meter no fluid in it . Apparently just copper with wire out the top .This guy had lots of problems wih his meter 4 to 5 times a wk it would stop working. He's had this one for 6 mths and no problems. He thinks its made in Canada something to research

My tractor seems to have an abundance of wires going hither and thither. Some helter and some skelter. To me it seems a far too complicated hinderance. But to young folk its a leap forward.

A couple of people have 'reported' this post

As far as I'm aware it is against UK and Ireland regulations to use any form of electrical device to immobilise any animal!

I'll leave this post up as we are obviously a 'worldwide' forum, and some people reading this may be from a country where these devices are allowed.

UK and Ireland farmers I urge you to check regulations before using such devices please!
