Yes and No. We have a Bridgeway one and it works OK for unrolling hay in the field or down a feed face. If you have made sh1t hay, claggy or short cut silage it's useless.Grumpy is right we had a customer who bought one and said it was one of the worst things he has got basically it just doesn't work.
They do work but,can be a pain if the bale sticks a bit(get off pull a bit off)start again.Solid centre bales the best.If you have this problem a tractor with good cab access is a must.
if you have a Db 996 forget it,even a skid steer climbing out and over the bale isn't fun if you have to do it a few times.
Depends on the number of animals. The other options could be feeders a proper mounted or trailed combi beder upper/feeder or bale unroller those New Zealand ones.
Our customer said it turns over once and then the rest of the bale just falls on the floor.Yes and No. We have a Bridgeway one and it works OK for unrolling hay in the field or down a feed face. If you have made sh1t hay, claggy or short cut silage it's useless.
Silage I guess, It is a bit of an art with some bales to get it off you sometimes have to turn the bale very slowly and be quick to turn it back if a lot looks like it's coming off. In reality they are nowhere as good as the proper unrollers but they are only abut a fifth of the price and you don't have to mess about with two tractors etc. And it certainly beats unrolling them by hand. Our customer said it turns over once and then the rest of the bale just falls on the floor.
Sounds like he's using bales out of a roller baler. Think belt baler is best. Our customer said it turns over once and then the rest of the bale just falls on the floor.
