Always get very miserable this time of year worst when weather is bad like been last few days :(
Considering getting a SAD light.
Any experiences with them?
Is it a special sort of light or would an led floodlight or 2 have the same effect?

look up blue SAD lights and white/Full spectrum SAD lights and it will tell you the difference.there is a lot of positive research out there and people like Monty Don use them effectively.

Most Vit D tablets sold over the counter are too weak to make much difference if you are really low in Vit D. If your ferritin and folate are out of balance, it would be difficult to get your vit levels up. It is worth asking your GP for a blood test, or you can do it with a drop of blood through an online testing agency. Blue Horizon is widely used and trusted. Once you have the results, you can decide if it is worth buying suppliments.
The lamps do not do any harm and may do some good so what have you got to lose?

Whose sitting under a lamp all day ?
Is is night/or morning time you got to do it to get you feeling better ?
If dark and cold and 6 months to get through winter or 12 months if like this year crap summer -how do people get best benefits of doing it ?

I wouldn't say I have SAD but I do have one of those lights, I hate being woken abruptly by an alarm. They do wake you up gently as the light starts to come on 20 min before the time you set and is at full brightness about 5 min before the time you set.
Then you open the curtains and realise it's still dark and miserable outside!

It gets me every year but not yet this year.
Not so much miserable just don't want to do anything other than eat and sleep.
Often thought about buying one of those lamps but the only time I want one is when I just can't be bothered to do anything about it. :D
