Having a problem with my samson sp11 slurry door, had a burst steel pipe on one of the up/down rams. Replaced the pipe and now the rams go up at different speeds an one ram won't go all the way to the top. I have slackened the breather on the right hand ram to let air escape but doesn't seem to help. Anyone have any advice on what I could try?

Sounds like you still got air in the rams
I would slackened of all pipe fitting and then use the slurry door up and down to get the air out It will be 2 man job one in the tractor
see if this will help .

Samson was one of the first with the verticle beater spreader
And it got copied by Richard Western and he named it Delilah
Which Samson was little bit Sore about. Richard western told me the story when I was on a factory visit.

The best way is to lift the gate 2/3 way up and disconnect the rams from the door. Then work them up and down until they move evenly. Using the bleed screw as well to let out any air. It is a master slave system so relies on each ram being full with no air.

First I have never used or been near a
Samson spreader .... is there any lubrication needed where the slurry door slides and was left out which caused pipe to burst ?

It was cleaned thouroughly and put plenty copper grease along door track and doorafter last season, theres a rubber flap on top of where the ram goes which was damaged causing a bit of dung to be stuck beside the ram which I think caused it to corrode and burst.

slackened fittings top and bottom, forced rams back to closed position, bit of a mess with oil, tightened fittings, extended rams fully, then worked them back and forth a few times to make sure they were equal without door attached, fitted door and away it went! Embarrassingly, at one point we fitted the pipes back to front making one ram extend and other pull in, which was a head scratching moment! Got there in the end! Get some dung spread now!!
