I use a Sealey one, the larger of the two they sell. Use fine crushed glass through it, ideal for smaller jobs. Done a couple of Fergie T20's, a MF35, spaceframe race car chassis and countless other bits and bobs. You need a decent compressor with moisture traps, glass needs to be kept in a dry environment.
Tips wear out as does the rubber hose and also the tap at the bottom of the pot but I have put circa 2-3t of grit through it so far.
Professional kit costs a fortune, screw compressors, air driers and blasting pots etc etc but if just small items to do then the Sealey kit is fine

Depends on how much of a hurry you are!! Think mine is circa 23cfm, am sure it would run off a smaller one but the average 12cfm ones I am unsure, prob be ok but never tried it.
I would guess that a lot of their kit would be designed to run off the standard 12cfm compressor but what I have found is that although they are advertised as 12cfm quite often they produce a fair bit less.
Maybe Google them and see what others have used re compressor, am sure they'll be plenty of info out there on them, good and bad!

I have one of the Sealey ones and run it with a two tool road compressor I used to use for blowing off the combine. Too much air is not a problem but not enough is. I have a 12 cfm in the workshop and I think that would struggle. I have done larger jobs but found it cost in materials is almost as much as getting the job done by a professional and unless you have an air fed mask it is a dirty sweaty horrible job.
I found you had to sieve all the sand to prevent blockages and also moisture in the air was a problem as Mr Noo said i the previous post. Only a job to do with the sun shining as if the air is humid it will start to rust again very quickly.
I only use it now for odds and ends and the bit that get missed.
