Sanderson 1130 Break issues

Trying to work on a Sanderson 1130 teleporter. I have traced the break lines back to a pump next to the alternator. The person who uses this equipment has been putting break fluid in it. Not sure what fluid should be used in this system. One site said Hydraulic fluid or ATF. Any info on that would greatly appreciated.
The breaks get rock hard when the machine get started.

This is a pic of the pump that runs the break system, need to know what fluid goes into this system on a Sanderson teleporter 1130

Hydraulic i'm almost 100%, ATF wouldn't make any difference though but no way put DOT 4 brake fluid near it, will result in new pump and knacker the valve in the cab, i wouldn't mind betting that valve in the cab is long obsolete and possible even seal kits too, same goes for the pedal.

Either ATF, or our Ford has always had JDF hydraulic oil.
Truckmasters at Skegness still do some Sanderson parts or for valves you might get lucky at a truck breakers.
If you can take the valve apart carefully a good hydraulic specialist might be able to source the seals for it.

Thank you for the info you provided. It seems the pump is failed. We drained it then added ATF. The Fluid just trickles out when the pedal is pumped. We will look for a rebuild kit. Any suggestions on that?
Thank you very much.

If you remove the pipe on the end then remove the bolt the outside canister comes off to reveal the filter inside. I have seen them clogged up but it will most probably have worn the pump out.
