know a man that filled batteries to the top with water, excuse was they stand out side in the rain if he was asked

I took a pallet of batteries in & they said they fill the all with water before the load them in to a container to go away , so next time I will do it at home first.

A long time ago ,my father was a dealer in allsorts.scrap being one of them ,we had a volkswagon pick up ,the one with the under body compartment.for some reason we had a lot of a!uminium to weigh in ,dad say persisting down tomorrow we will weigh that scrap in ,then he put 4 x 5gallon drums full of water in said compartment.off we go just before entering yard he pulls over and says get in there and when i bang on the side undo caps and let the water out ,it was hammering down .nobody noticed he was put on the weighbridge as the ali was bulky ,so he gained nearly 100kgs ,crafty swine

My first thought was, if this blokes trailer is watertight enough to keep in 1000 lit of water then it's too good to use for scrap

where do you take your scrap speedy? I've called browns at coldstream 4 times now and they've not got back to me getting pi55ed off with them

How much is stainless compared to ferrous?
Not after a exact figure but is it worth dismantling the stainless tank out of my scrap sprayer.

last stainless I took was about £800 ton. So a fair bit more than iron. Just depends how heavy as to if its worth it or not.

Scrap boys bought a safe off me, and promptly began filling it with soil.

Well pleased, £190 a ton yesterday at Christie's Glasgow, guessed we had maybe 10 ton on the lorry, 16.8t over the weighbridge! Well worth the time gathering it up and loading.

If you've an accumulation, get it away, while the price is good! It's amazing how much you've probably got!
